Thank you for this great (and not boring) article. As a therapist, I often encounter clients claiming to be bored and acting on it, often to their detriment. This is especially so for people in recovery from addiction. I love the last quotation by Ellen Parr, and I'll definitely use it.
In the past I have told my clients that boredom is a sign that something needs to change. I've also guided them to learn to sit through it, that boredom never killed anyone, and that we all get bored at times, even babies.
